When did this happen??!!

Holy crap! Last battery I purchased was a deep cell marine battery and it was only 125 bucks. Was it really 200 bucks Plus?
Yeah man... I just got bk from Walmart with a $160 one.. of course it was the cheapest of the cheap but has a 3yr warranty.. so, Imma replace it every year or 2 😂 For free

$250+ ???!!!
For real ? 😮.
I’m a disabled mechanic and it hasn’t been that damned long since I bought a battery or seen the prices on one , I didn’t think !! There has to be something different about this one….i have not seen a decent battery for a car over $100 unless it’s something special/custom/unique ?!
That is just out of sight expensive !!
I'm not joking one bit.. want a Cheap Walmart one that has a 3yr warranty you can get one close to $150/$160 but everywhere besides there has them for $250+ & it's a 124R type battery.. nothing too special, it's a '06 Kia Sedona..

100% FACTS! also, they want to hook up all these electrical components to your car to "Diagnose It" when you already know the problem 😂 then try to charge ya $100 😂 I'm like no thanks I'll get a free one from Auto Zone then see what I can personally fix myself..

Dealers don't want you to work on your own vehicle even if you are a qualified tech. I believe we will see a time where you have to unlock your vehicle to even allow you to repair something. Greed will take over and swing us in that direction. Everything will get built cheaper but the repair prices will continue to inflate. Just think about it. It would mean millions to be automotive manufacturers.

Got tired of returning Wal Mart batteries for my truck that were rated for 3 yrs. that never lasted over 6 months. Had them tested, always a dead cell. Bought a Duracell from Batteries Plus, $220.00 with tax.

I just got through paying over $1,200 to replace "Knock" sensors....WTF.....check engine light on....no way to get a tag unless repaired......apparently, they lie under the intake manifold....perfect place for "knock" sensors....

Yeah they are son of a gun to get to. You have to remove the complete fuel injection system and some times the valve covers if the edges hang over the intake. If that the case then the engine wire harness has to be moved and all kinds of stuff has to be removed or moved out of the way. It just depends on how the engine is designed. It's no easy task especially If it's a front wheel drive.

There is a plate underneath the manifold and the knock sensors are mounted to that plate. So it's a little more involved than removing the intake. You've seen under the hood it's a engineering nightmare. There is a lot steps that go into that. In our quest for automotive efficiency they totally looked over ease of maintenance and repair.
