If he's selling the same day, that suggests he's doing some under the table "wannabe" FFL'ing. Which, you know, ain't exactly legal. Along the lines of the "interesting people" who demand you fill out a Bill of Sale even though they aren't an FFL (and no, I don't have an issue filling out information for a C&R holder because he/she does possess an FFL per the government).

Not that I agree with the law, but while it is the law, you'd think people wouldn't be so brazen about it.

Not a ****ed up 1911 in the pic. I use mine rather than look at them and preserve "resale value."
Um ok lol, theres a difference in using them and being totally ignorant and not be able to put it back together correctly.Didnt you have a 2k Kobra with idiot mark???
Normally when people bring a 1911 into the store. We end up passing on them solely cause an idiot mark.Kind of tells you about the person.......

Bet if you take a poll theres not alot of idiot marks /assembly mark "LOL"
On peoples 1911s that know what there doing.Come on up to the shop ill give you free lesson.

No, my Kobra does not have an idiot mark. Nor does any other 1911 I purchased new. That said, most of my used ones and inherited ones do, but most if them have so much wear from honest use, the "idiot mark" isn't even noticeable and FAR from the biggest imperfection on the guns.

As I said, we are talking about two different types of people. Shooters, and collectors/resellers. My 1911s are for shooting and you will never find my shooters for sale, certainly not for sale to a gun store.

I have been shooting, working on, and building 1911s for the better part of 30 years.
Give me a free lesson in what exactly?

Or as guys who actually shoot their 1911s call it, the assembly mark. I get a kick out of people losing their damn heads over a friggin scratch

Glad I'm not the only one that feels that way! Some special safe queen that never gets shot? Maybe. But considering I disassemble mine weekly... it's just handling marks.

Easy lil trick to keep from idoit marking your 1911.Take the slide stop out and take a file to the backside of the slide stop lever .File in a small V notch on the backside of the slide lever where the detent pin hits it.
