Where do you guys go to the beach that doesn't cost a fortune?

I'm always in sticker shock when I see a 3 bedroom condo going for over $4k a week. Are there any "deals" to be had out there? Looking in the gulf area.

Quail Hollow condos in St Augustine is reasonable prices and right on the beach
And St Aug is a much nicer beach than Panama City

Although after this weekend who knows what's gonna be left standing

I find the beaches behind industrial parks and mining operations are FREE,
never crowded, and none of those annoying souvenier shops
trying to sell you refrigerator magnets for several bucks.

Its cheaper to fly to & stay in Cabo for a week, including airfare than PCB/Destin. Plus the resort on Cabo is all inclusive.....

Cabo, Cozumel, or Playa de Carmen. All cheaper than an American beach excursion.
