Thinking outside the box

And I'm not a fan of tacos to begin with. Remington has just about always been an econo rifle outfit, other than their specialty models.

You can get the 788 in LH. So that's the one I'd go with cos I don't shoot backwards rifles.

my only essential oil is what drips out of said taco....
now the 788 can be said to have been one of Remingtons finest right out the box, stoopid accurate! I didn't list it because of it's known reputation alas monetary value.

I wouldn't but a budget bolt. Seen too many problems withem. Best low priced, maybe a Weatherby Vanguard or a Tikka. I personally own a Vanguard, but heard good reviews from people I know about Tikka. Also, Savage builds a good rifle. But I've never owned their bolt gun. The older models were good, like the 110

An old Remington 721 or the like would be my top choice. I am not a fan of the 700 and it pains me that its popularity was pretty much the downfall of amazing bolt action rifles, at least in the US. I know, unpopular opinion. The Zastava rifles were, at one point, marketed by Remington at a very reasonable price.

I've got 2 Remington 770 in 2 different cal in my shop with broken bolt handles. Replacement bolts are more than the rifles are worth. Absolute pieces of crap. Just my .02
