compound crossbows can not be repaired, restrung, tuned etc. w/out a bow press. With a recurve all you need is a rope stinging aid. I have had mine for five years. Played alot with it the first year to get it dialed in, now each year I check 20, 30, 40 yards for POI and put it away. Have not moved the scope since it was initially set up. No simpler than that.

Somebody just posted an Excalibur Phoenix recently.
I bought my daughter the exact same one and it is a great setup.
Best bows bar none!
