The alum cans are a lot lighter; but you will have to let them cool some if they are not FA rated. Just don't touch them until you are sure they are cool as they get hot quick. You know that there is a Silencerco demo 12/6 at Griffin Gun Club where you could try out the different set ups.

If I were you, I would attend the Quiet Riot Silencer Co demo being held at Griffin Gun Club on December 6th and see what appeals to you. It's free to attend and shoot. Them you might have a better idea of what you might need/want. Jake will be there taking orders.

I'm planning on being there just to see how different some of the cans sound. I don't have any buddies with cans so I have nothing to compare mine with. I just know that they all grin when they try my cans and want to know more. These things are addicting!
