This store owner nearly died from this about 3wks ago. While eating a cookie he apparently inhaled and sucked a crumb into his lungs. The lungs filled with fluid and got infected. He then nearly went into cardiac arrest. He is now on heart meds and antibiotics. All from a damn cookie crumb. I can't imagine being killed by a cookie crumb of all things.

Aspiration!
This is what you do when you choke on your own spit!
Who all has ever choked on your own spit? A terrible coughing spell.!

I guess you shouldn't talk while you are eating or slow down and not inhale your food. This same guy explained to me his friend who had the same thing happen to him only it was a piece of onion and he had to have surgery to remove it from his lungs. Of all the things to nearly die from?

Bingo! Why mama always said "Don't talk with food in your mouth" and "Chew with your mouth closed." In the end, I think the response was, don't breath while you eat, LOL!

I aspirated a chunk of biscuit a few years back….it set up an infection in my lung that spread to both lungs and hospitalized me for four days with double pneumonia. Was at 30% lung capacity when admitted. I would have died if I didn’t go to the ER that night…on a side note, I quit smoking that night. Not one cigarette since then…
