Whitetail neck shot?

Shot a large doe once on Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge. When we cleaned it we found a large mass on the right shoulder / leg area. 3 blade broadhead with about 1& 1/2 arrow shaft imbedded.

Base of neck, slightly high of center.

my shots are under 80 yards here in the woods
if no limbs in the way it's a head or neck for me
anywhere between the eye and shoulder
I hunt with a .30-30 1st photo, .308 2nd & 3rd, 7mm08 last photo
