I’m curious if anyone has ever seen an Italian made Beretta with the typical Italian markings including the manufacturer date code that ALSO has a US manufacturer’s serial number. The odd thing is, the Italian date code is a different year than the US serial number indicates.

Sorry, couldn't resist! :)

Not a Beretta expert, but my understanding is the date codes are specific to the proof date for the barrel(s).
The serial number is specific to the receiver.
Maybe there was a delay between the barrel(s) production and being fit to a receiver?
Which model?
Any chance the barrel(s) could have been replaced at some point?
