Who got their new iPhone 17 today?

My kids asked what they were.......

I know they were expensive.....that was cutting edge back then and you had to be rich to have one too

I am kind of upset with Apple; with the new phone you have no way to "plug in" the phone when you first get it. They give you a wire with a new plug that won't plug into the old USB charging block or the older iPhones. The phone was at 44% battery when I got it and after all of the downloading, it was at 37%. I had to go over to Walmart to buy a plugin that would work with the new wiring, so I could charge it!

I LOVE Apple products; I'm typing this on my iMac, I have a MacBook (my wife's as our old MacBook went to Apple Heaven after many years of faithful service), an iPhone, and an iPad (my daughter's).

That being said, I despise the phone charger stuff now. If I remember correctly, I think I had the same thing happen with my new-to-me (bought it from eBay as "used," but was basically brand new) iPhone I got a couple years back. I just sat there annoyed that I couldn't charge the darn thing unless I bought a new charger and/or outlet attachment from Amazon. It blew my mind and just seems like they're spending a nickel to save a penny, so to speak

The youngest informed us she “needs” a new iPhone since her’s now is 2 years old

well.....you have to think about that in her terms......2 years for her, that would probably be about 10% of her life??? that would equate to a 14 year old phone to us.....I'm just perfecting her claim!!! it's the least I can do.....
