Who got their new iPhone 17 today?

Sounds like my teenager-aged niece. I'm not upgrading unless a) it's free or b) my phone craps out and I can find it on eBay for hundreds off MSRP like I did for my current iPhone.

I SAID that I thought I was rich.....at the time.....NOW, I know that I wasn't....what i was aiming at, with the comment....was that I shouldn't have bought a 2k phone at the time.....my money would have been better spent elsewhere.....

I totally get that. But...

We had two 12s and one 15 but when we added a fourth phone for our soon-to-be-driving son (learner's permit currently) the CS rep laid out how we could all upgrade to the 16 and add his phone and the bill would be less. We're "stuck" with version for two years, so, the phones aren't really "free", but up in NE Ga, at least where we are, Verizon is the most, if not only, reliable network.

Heck, my wife was happy with her iPhone 6! But adding a line and getting new phones and paying less? Why not.

If I understood the CS rep's reference, they were trying to dump their stock of iPhone 16s since everyone "had to have" the new 17.

If i had to guess these cell companies buy the phones. Then sell to you. Once a new model comes out, I highly doubt Apple will take them back. If that is the case, They just wanted them out of inventory and out of your hair.

they are the superior phone regardless

coming from an android user that always said iphones were gay. The ease of use and streamlined everything is worlds better than any android I've ever used. IOS is a much smoother OS.
