I'm 100% sick of wearing glasses. I'm sick of cleaning them, dealing with scratches on the lenses, eye fatigue from wearing them all day and everything else about them. If you have had Lasik, how do you feel about it? Was it worth the expense? What are the pros and cons of having it done? Can you give me a ballpark idea of how much $$ I'm looking at.

Thanks in advance!

I had lasik done in 2006. Best investment i have ever made. I think i spent 3-4 thousand total. Was back to work in 3 days. Lost the "halo" effect at night after about 6 months.

I had LASIK done in 2000 and havent regretted it. I cant tell you the current price, I paid $1k an eye.
There are Pro's and Con's to getting the surgery though.
After wearing glasses and contacts for years I was used to not seeeing anything at night.. holy crap...
looking in the mirror I realized that I look like $hit in the morning and needed to go on a diet... man!!...
well.. that and having dry eye (I didnt blink enough and had to concentrate on keeping my eyes
wet).

The PROs are not having to find lost glasses, seeing instantly... better depth perception, able to
wear sunglasses that dont look like crap, not pushing up my glasses every few minutes..etc. etc.

It's worth the money. Only thing... dont let your wife watch them shoot that laser on your eye.
My wife watched it... saw the puff of smoke and almost passed out... it was funny but she still
talks about it to this day.

I had it done in march of 2012. Wish I had done it years ago. I have some dry eye in my right eye, which was the eye I had a bad astygmatism in. Mine was around $4000. Do it. U won't regret it.

Do they charge more if you have astigmatism? Will Lasik correct astigmatism? If it's $1k-$1.5k per eye I can handle that, but if it's $2k+ per eye that would put it out of the realm of possibility for me.

Don't know if it was more for astygmatism but it did correct mine. I had mine done in Rome from one of the first Drs in ga. tha started doing it years ago. I'm sure u could find it cheaper in Atlanta but I wanted to stay close to home.

Cool. Thanks for info. What's the recovery time like? I don't want to do it now and then have to potentially miss any weekends that I could be hunting.

I drove to my appt. the next morning with 20/20 vision. Just have to be careful of dust and dirt in your eyes for a couple weeks. My dr. made me wear some goggles at night so as not to rub your eyes in your sleep. I had it done on Thursday morning, back at work on Monday. Use a lot of sterile eye drops for about 3-4 months.
