BOA,Suntrust, pnc, Wachovia, % them! Seriously. I have a business pnc account because no one else will take my money. They fired my buddy Aka branch mgr for the way he was instructed to have his employees clock in and out. . . Charterbank is the best small bank till they get bought. Credit unions are the best.

All banks are full of BS First thing they want to hold your money then pay them to do it and don't be to slow about giving your money to them and don't ask for it all back .... But if you ask to hold any of there money you have to give your life story your shoe size dental record your oldest child and we are suppose to be all right it. On top of that they want you to give them more back then you got from them

So I just read this whole thread. I had no idea that BOA was anti-gun. But I'll admit, I'm far from being the best at keeping up with what companies are anti-gunners. I bought a gun like a year ago and used my BOA account to directly pay for it through the website. They didn't make a peep about it. Transaction went through just fine.

What about Wells Fargo? I know a lot of you like small banks/CU's, but aside from that, is Wells Fargo anti-gun?
G,
BoA has a pretty long and 'proud' history of being anti-gun. I let them know EXACTLY why I was cancelling my cards. Funny thing was, it was some guy in South America that answered the phone and he was SHOCKED that Americans can just go buy guns at a store BUT... he was also very envious and impressed.
We bank with Wells but only because we were with First Atlanta back in the day, that got bought by Wachovia that got bought by Wells. Given that they are HQ'd in San Fran, I'm sure if I dug around I could find something to dislike but my PERSONAL opinion is, if you don't make your idiocy public policy, then fine. BoA has gone several steps to far in their anti gun actions. If I was starting from scratch, I'd definitely be looking at credit unions (I'm a member of two but neither are local).

I'm always disappointed how little that anti 2A organizations bother some gun owners. Should the same thing happen in the US as has other 'free' countries (England, Australia), they will be the first guys scratching their heads wondering how it happened. But they'll also be banging on the keyboards between now and then spouting a bunch of "from my cold hands" nonsense too. Yeah, they'll fight to the death but can't be bothered to switch banks.

My hate for BOA goes back to 1969 when I returned from Viet Nam. I flew back into Travis AFB in California and from there was to take a commercial flight back to my home duty station, a remote Radar site in Georgia. I had my pay sent to my wife while serving there, and she had sent me a USPO Money Order to pay for my plane ticket back home. After running the gauntlet of protesters coming out of Travis, I stopped at BOA to cash the Money order to buy my ticket and was told they didn't do business with "baby killers". Fortunately for me, I met my Commanding Officer as he was going over to RVN. He loaned me the money to buy my ticket home, and to this day BOA will never knowingly get a penny from me.

We had 14 business accounts at BOA. First they stopped taking night deposits without going in and filling out a bunch of paperwork to get a key to the night drop. Then they stopped taking cash from business customers at the drive through, so we would have to go inside and stand in a mile long line. It was really a pain getting all those accounts switched over, but dealing with local community banks is so much better.

I was so glad to hear that my little small town bank was buying out Bank of "America". I used to be a customer of theirs until that decided to go public with their anti gun policy. My bank now is great, and my financial advisor has been hunting with me. He knows I carry 24/7.
