Have made my exit from BOA... About 2 years ago....Almost got my wife out....
Will stay with Credit Union....
Planning my move to Young Harris ... Looking for that nice local bank in Young Harris / Hiawassee area...
Any recommendations between United Community and Park Sterling?

So everyone agrees, BOA sucks and if you choose to use them it is not a matter of if, but when they will cornhole you

I guess I'm an outlier. We moved to BOA about 12 years ago from a one-branch bank that we liked very much. It was too much of a hike to go across the county to do the banking. BOA had just opened a branch about 2 miles from us.

We got to know the branch manager by name. We've done a lot of business with them over the years for both personal and business banking, and they always worked hard in the local branch to serve us. We had some frustrating glitches with the online banking stuff, but we were also doing fairly sophisticated linking among multiple accounts, so we were a bit on the bleeding edge. The local branch has always been responsive to resolving problems.

Bottom line, that is the issue: The local branch relationship is what makes it work for us. We've got good people locally, so we like BOA, because those local folks are BOA to us.

I work for a smallish regional bank that is the top rated customer service bank in the country and one of the best in any industry by JD Power. We are based out of North Georgia.....

I used to bank with BoA before I graduated college and had a free student checking account. Somehow they knew i graduated college and switched my account to a regular checking account without telling me! I only had like $90 in there since I was paid into my employee account. The punks started charging me service fees each month without telling me until they overdrafts the stupid account and they charged a $35 fee! They let me know about the overdraft (so kind of them) and wanted to collect. I told them to pound sand and close the account since I wasn't gonna pay.

There is a special kind of hate in my heart for BoA and Comcast....

I have my checking and a small savings account with them. I do almost all my bill paying through them mainly because I do it all online and their website is head and shoulders above anyone else's. Also, their ATM network is almost unavoidable.
Most of my money and all of my loans are with a credit union.

You'd think their blatant anti 2A stance would have them having zero customers on a site like this, never mind their horrendous customer service. But.... nope.

I'll admit it. I still use them. It was a matter of convenience because usaa had no local branches. I've been thinking better of it lately. The wife just opened up an account at regions and I just did one at Fort Gordon credit union. I think soon, I will let them go. If for nothing else because they are anti 2A and from Boston. That's like 7 or 8 strikes in my book.
