i still have a hard time understanding southern speak. having lived in big cities up north all my life, i understand "ebonics" as u all refer to it. my wife is amazed when we're out and i actually understand the locals when they speak "ebonics"

but i'm still trying to figure out what "fixing to do" something means. i had a co-worker tell me they were fixing to start working
