Who lives in Dekalb?

Worked in DeKalb for 11 years before retiring in 2011. LEO once asked me if I knew what road/street in the nation had more crime. I guessed somewhere in D.C. or Chicago but Candler Rd was the answer.
Remembering Vernon Jones........Mr. CEO was what he liked being called.
I liked City of Decatur. Old money there.

I don't know of anywhere in Dekalb that i would want to live. Maybe some of you guys that live in Dekalb are close to the edges of another county or something

I graduated from Lithonia High in 1970 something, drove back through the old neighborhood in 2010, i barely slowed down as I went by the old homestead, moving target kind of thing.
I grew up off of 212 near the Rockdale Co line. It was a cool place to live in the 70-80's but the place took a **** by time the 90's came around. LHS had some of the most racist teachers ans students there, they did not like us creepy ass saltine Americans. White folks are not the racist ones. When I moved from there to Cherokee Co, I was blown away on my first day of school at Cherokee high, there were very few black people and I didn't hear any kind of racist or gang talk from them. It has been a few years since I went through my old neighborhood, most folks I knew moved away and the place is a corrupt dump now, kind of sad. I did however stop for some Mammie's Kitchen!

Well.......it's time to take the cover off the 800 lb gorilla in this thread......
It's black people! Of course, not ALL black people, but anyone who has lived in the Atlanta area for more than 20 years knows EXACTLY what I'm saying and they know it is the truth. Dekalb county was an awesome place to live and work untill the mid to late 80's. But then MARTA brought the ghetto trash in and eventually they over ran the county and chased away the hateful white Devils who were keeping them down. Stone Mountain was a beautiful place to live, and the village was a quaint, relaxing place to visit, with cool little shops and some killer restaurants. NO MORE!!! The village is a ghetto ghost town now, and you'd only go there at night with a squad of Marines! It is sad and pitiful, and it is the way that communities all around the pus sore of Atlanta are becoming.
The cold, hard, gospel truth of the matter is that the predominant black culture in this country is profoundly dysfunctional and full of abhorant and distructive pathologies. It will never change unless and untill the majority of black people in this country get off the victim, govt dependency plantation and develop some sense of pride in self-sufficiency and independence.
Untill then.......it will only get worse, and the cancer will continue to spread exponentially.
So now......let the declarations of my hateful racism begin!! Even HERE, I expect to be condemned and castigated for
TELLING. THE. TRUTH!
