damn hit her while her back was turned.
up until the point he touched the young lady it was disturbing the peace.
once he touched her it became assault misdemeanor when he hit her and she fell and became unconscious it was felonious assault.
up to the point where he was doing nothing more than disturbing the peace.....you do nothing.
the guy that headlocked him did the right thing to prevent the possibility of further assault,he could have held onto him until the police got there.
i am going to say no matter what anyone coming to the defense of the woman and trying to physically restrain the assailant would have had to deal with his friends as well.
when that person gets caught he will be a bitch in jail........
i hope the young lady recovers 100%.

I feel like everything happened the way it should have. You can't punch some one just because they are cussing a storm. After the black dude hit the woman, some one put him in a choke hold and pulled him away (defense of the victim). And then what? People are supposed to jump him and give him social justice? Or even worse, punch him out before he hit? Yeah not me, I'm not going to jail over that scum bag.

It does change if it was my wife but I will gladly go to jail for my wife.

There are a lot of these comments from the "keyboard commandos" will put them in jail, if they carried them out, and tens of thousands of dollars in debt.

I witnessed a male run out of a store with the clerk chasing after him while holding his head, one day while sitting at a red light, and I decided to intervene. The perp ran behind the store and I assumed he was going to go down a side street once he made it out of site of the clerk. I drove down the street and pulled up beside the perp who was now on a bike, and asked him what had happened and if he'd mind hanging out for awhile so that things could be sorted out. Of course he didn't want to and proceeded to try to open a door on a passing car.

Had he just took off running, I wouldn't have chased him on foot but he decided to go the other route and put his hands on me. After wrestling to the ground, I was able to put him in a submission hold until the cops arrived and carted his butt off to jail. The cops took my name and info and thanked me for being a good Samaritan.

The clerk had passed out (elderly asian man) in the middle of the road from the head trauma (and possibly excitement), but a coworker was able to tend to him until the paid professionals could make.

Could the situation had ended different? It certainly could have, but in a situation where I can defend those that can't defend themselves, my genetic makeup doesn't allow me to sit by idle in fear of the what if. I'm no bad ass, just a regular guy who would hope someone would do the same for my wife, daughters, and or family members.

Everyone worries about being sued, shot, jumped, or labeled as a racist. All I can say is follow your own heart. Personally I will continue to hold doors open for others, say yes Ma'am and no Sir, ask you to watch your language while around women and children, and even roll with you if that's how you want to handle things. I believe that men should not be afraid of being men, and teach our sons and daughters what they should be or look for in a friend or spouse.
