You really don't have to raise the seat, just sit down, you might decide to drop a deuce while you are at it. Nothing like farting with no worries. lol
It's raise before and let down afterwards.

Because I don't sit down to pee and my pecker doesn't hang inside the bowl when I'm standing.
Just another example of the difference between AR and AK shooters. AK shooters should raise the seat because they spray and pray. AR shooters have the accuracy to leave it down without issues.
