YEAh, a laser is how to do it.
Makes aiming easy.
But the clamps can be a hassle to get on.
I just leave the laser attached; it is easier than claiming it on for each bathroom break.

I think the better question is why leave the toilet seat up. Anyone who's ever gotten up in the middle of the night and sat on the throne with the seat up knows the surprise I'm talking about.
