Why the "bump"

Just curious...

I see a lot of "bump" or "free bump" post in the classified section. However, the post doesn't actually get bumped to the top of the list...or am I missing something?

It puts the ad at the top of the feed.

and the top of "What's new" which is all I use.

I have now discovered the feed. This is trouble....subscribing to forums now!
