Why you shouldn't kill rat snakes

it's illegal to keep them for pets too if they are georgia native species. The only snakes you can legally catch and keep for pets without a special permit from dnr, are rattlesnakes, copperheads, cottonmouths and coralsnakes. i can't have a pet cornsnake (most popular pet snake in america) regardless of where it came from, but i can have all the pitvipers and coralsnakes i want...with no permit needed.

Here's a rat snake shed I found in the barn a couple of weeks ago. Went to get on the tractor and it was hanging right above my head. Scared the crap outta me at first. This one was 7' long.

This is why you should let rat snakes and king snakes live in your yard.

That looks like a perfect opportunity for a 2 for 1 kill. 12 gauge ammo isn't cheap.
