Will more pew pew companies follow suit?

I’d be surprised if Glock ever does anything more than bringing back finger grooves for latest greatest haha
LOL

I don't know though. I really think any medium-large police department will make a chassis system a requirement just like most want the ability to mount a red dot. And Glock led that charge with their MOS system, even if plates are not the ideal way to mount a dot.

for sure the wave of the future. From talking with folks at Ruger and reading online, sounds like Magpul is planning on making different colors to start with and target price of $40-50 for the "frame". Allowing people to play around with stipling the grip and playing around with stuff and only out $40 if you don't like it or want something different. Being able to effectively have a Glock 17 or 19 or whatever, put it in a "pistol"/braced chassis, or whatever should be a nice selling point.

The aftermarket will have a field day with the Ruger FCI.

Yeah. As pointed out above the SIG chassis is expensive and the parts are even more so. It's a lot cheaper to simply buy the 365 or 320 you want than build it up from a chassis.

I'm thinking that the deal with Ruger may be different. If other companies jump on this platform the cost of the original pistol will keep the prices down. And Ruger generally doesn't charge an arm and a leg for parts.

True, I don't see everything becoming a chassis system, but they are going to take over a lot of the market for people who like to tinker with their guns IMHO.

I would also bet dollars to donuts that the Gen 6 Glock will be a chassis gun. Same for the M&P 3.0. The ability to fit a wide variety of frame/hand sizes and uses without buying a new gun for every officer on a force will make this a requirement.
If Glock went with a chassis system, they'd be reduced to, what, 3 different models?
Everything else would be changes in 'accessories'.

Actually I think they would really only have two models. Maybe even one if the chassis worked across both large and small frame Glocks. Like you say, everything else would be an accessory.

It would get them around the whole 'Glock switch' issue too, since they could make a different chassis for select fire and get rid of all those 'easily convertible' lawsuits starting to pile up.

Yeah, it’s called shadow systems :behindsofa:
