Don't upgrade on an older computer especially if it has a lot on it because it will overload and start locking up.

I'm avoiding it a long a possible, purely because MS is intent on data mining every last thing they can get their hands on.
With some tweaks 8 can behave pretty much like 7, and is stable for me. I'm inclined towards Linux when 8 is no longer useable.

I disagree.
The volume of penises gobbled by windows 10 is far in excess of a bag.
I would estimate something more along the lines of a dump truck load or perhaps a metric **** ton.
