The history channel ran a documentary about some survivalist who built one. I think he ran in on cow chips. It worked

Nat Geo had a show on preppers, and one guy ran his truck with one.
They are pretty pricey to buy, I'd like to know how hard it is to put one together out of scrap stuff....

Actually the one from FEMA is pretty good.
It has parts lists and is written so a mechanic or metal fabricator can accomplish it.

90 pages with exploded views of parts and componets.

I printed that one off, so I can look it over this weekend. Just a quick scan through seems like it might be a good winter project.
