Work/ranch boot recs?

I've had these Justins for a few years now. They are comfortable and wear great AND Made in the USA (from global parts). They are solid and well made and good leather. I got mine without the steel toes.

When I mechanic’d 20 years ago, I wore Rocky 8” lace ups. I went through 2-3 pairs over the years. Very comfortable. The most comfortable boot I ever wore was a Justin “Cheyenne” that they discontinued years ago. I wish I had 5 pairs of them on the shelf. View attachment 9200251
i still have a pair of the cheyenne boots. Use them when I weedwack and when Im gathering/splitting firewood. They were made in USA.

I've tried everything from the boaz ratchet system, to speed hooks, to side zip boots, to elastic laces. Nothing beats cowboy boots i can kick on and off.
I've never been able to get totally used to slip on boots due to the heel slip. My heel has a somewhat narrow profile and most factory slip on boots have never suited me. I prefer having laced boots to lock everything in. In all honesty it takes me longer to piss than to get my boots on & laced lol.

Depends how many times a day you take your boots on and off. But I get ya. Mine do fine for me with a lot of walking up and down steep grades. The boots have to be tight when you get em. Tighter than you might think. Then you have to break them in and they stretch. I have almost no slip when I do it right. Fit love a glove. That being said, if I was hiking with a heavy pack I'd take my lace up redwings.

That's a hard question but the Red Wing store knows the model and every time I go in they hook me up. I've bought the same model for the last 25 years at least.
Got a pair or red wing logger steel toe for 60 bucks from a discount store called gabes in chattanooga a few years back. Love them but not great for concrete.
