Is that the generation that was too busy drinking and smoking themselves to death while their kids ran rampant in the 60's and 70's? The same generation that had the highest desertion rate in any war in the 20th century? I have respect for most of them, but I have a problem with people looking at them as the all good doing angels they were made out to be.
every generation has their problems

ours is folks like justin beiber and dub step

and whatever the **** swag is anyway (seriously, what the hell is it)

Much keyboard warriors here, there is. sorry I had to do it. :becky::becky::becky:

METT-TC is the only proper answer.

Where are you? Where is the shooter? Do you have cover or concealment? Who is with you? What weapon do you have? How much ammo? Where is the nearest exit? Now add fog.

I will quote a couple of Murphy's laws:
You are not Superman; Marines and fighter pilots take note.
Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself.
Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire. For this reason, it is not at all uncommon for aircraft carriers to be known as bomb magnets.
Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around you.
If the enemy is within range, so are you.
Anything you do can get you killed, including nothing.
The Cavalry doesn't always come to the rescue.

I gotta protect me and mine. Hell with them jews. As long as them Nazis is killing them I'm they ain't killing me..

Screw the Phillipines, Japan can have them.

Hey! I ain't runnin' into no tower, let them run out if they wanna live.

Dude! Your house is on fire...JUMP! I'll be out here if you want me.

Not even close to the point I was making. They did fight a great war, but they were not the professional fighting machine we have today, even in Vietnam we had a much more professional army. Not knocking our troops in the 1940's, just clarifying the comparison.

Folks.... This ain't real difficult. First and foremost, get the loved ones to safety. If that is not a possibility, you may have to engage. Even if you are outgunned and outsmarted. Sometimes life sucks like that. In that situation, you just make sure the POS pays retail for anything be gets from you or yours.

I mean really.... What are your other options. You just watched the last 5 people who made a break for the door get shot. You've got a tiny .380 in your pocket or on your hip and your going to be afraid to at least TRY to save your family???

I would rather die trying to save more than one life than to do nothing. Since when is my life worth more than one or even equal to another. In my eyes I am here for a much higher purpose than my own and I know where I will go when I die and I will do what it takes.

Sorry man. Wasn't responding to you. It was a facetious response to the idea of minding my own business and the times we helped OTHERS instead of just saying "Hell with THEM". Missed the mark I rekkin. No biggie. NO offense intended. Even to the original post I was referring to.
