Would you want to be shot by a .380?!?

I carry a LCP and it's better than using foul language.

Is it going to stop an attacker on PCP (do folks even still do that drug?) prolly not but it's better than my pocket knife.

In winter months the compact 1911 in .45acp fits nicely.

The thing about pocket carry is that it is ALWAYS there.

Or for that matter a 22? I know I don't! Why so much hate for the "Mouse Guns" isn't it all about shot placement anyway? Just curious as to hear what folks have to say? You know the why's and the why not?

Thanks ....... Jbum
I've got nothing against the caliber (other than being a worse, more expensive 9mm!), but I question the effectiveness of mouse guns because most have effectively no sights and are very hard to shoot worth a damn, at least compared to even a single stack 9mm.

And this is coming from someone with an LCP in their carry rotation.

I've recently acquired an lcp 380 for a pocket gun . Something I never thought I'd do, but I've been having trouble with my right elbow and can't do well with a heavier weapon at this time.
I've been watching some YouTube videos on the 380 and with the proper ammo they do quite well .
Some of the tests are with the clear ballistics jel . With a few of the +p HP defense loadings ,the wound channel is quite large .
I must say that I was also surprised at the accuracy of this thing at 7 to 10 yards . Also rang some steel at 15 & 20 yards .
I would not want to be hit with the ammo I'm carrying ,which is Hornady Zmax & CD .
I was rather impressed with some of the loadings getting 1100 & 1200 fps in modern cartridges .

Folks, you can kill a man with a sharp pencil, but would you make that your choice for self defense? The FIRST job of a SD weapon is to STOP the attack. Killing the attacker is almost a side effect.

If you use a 22 on an attacker it will probably kill him......right after he kills you for shooting him with it.

And no, it's not all about shot placement. Shot placement is important, but only one element of what makes effective self defense.

I wouldn't want to be shot by a freakin' pellet gun but.... If my choice was .380 or 10mm, all day everyday I'm choosing the .380, LOL

I don't even want to be shot with an airsoft gun...let alone anything that shoots a more solid or powerful projectile. But I guess all things being equal, I'd rather be hit with a 380 than anything that my 460V is capable of firing. Nothing good can come of being hit with a .452 diameter bullet...it would probably hurt just having it thrown at you without the gun.
