Building my first AR on a budget, and am shopping around for a good deal on a lower. Found some decent prices online, but with shipping and FFL fees, it comes out to be no deal at all!

Ideally, I'd like to try to come in around $75 - $80 for a stripped lower, but I am flexible on that.

Anyone able to help out?

Hey, just remember that when you build it, that you must think about resale. Most lowers are the same, but some will make the gun easier to sale later. Plum Crazy are usually the cheapest, but I would go with the spikes as the name seems to sale better. of course Colt's will bring top dollar. If you want something different, use a billet lower for a cool look. Quentin Defense sales their for $149 I believe, and They have their billet lower with US military logo's too if you want real special stuff. Good Luck

@pheard: PM sent.

@CodyW: Will do. Check out AIM surplus online, if you know an FFL dealer who won't charge you too much, it's a great deal.

@dwaywego: Thanks for the advice! I will keep it in mind, but I am usually very attached to my guns. I've only sold one in the last 20 years, and that was back to the guy who gave it to me, so he could give it to his son.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions! Those AIM deals are really nice, I might have to browse around for some places that can do transfers cheap.
