And how do I fix it? Haha.

Do I fill with concrete? It seems pretty unstructurally sound to have placed a 3x3' shower over this- in fact, the reason I'm replacing is because of cracks in this exact area of the floor.

The old was fiberglass the new is acrylic.

Kind of stuck here until the wisdom of odt guides me! ;)

Is it offset? Looks like it was in the wrong place and that was the "fix".

I believe so- there are like 4 elbows.

I bought a bag of type n mortar to level- can I fill with this and level in the same "pour"?

Dont fill it until youve checked that your new shower base is gonna line up perfectly from both walls and to the bottom of the new base. My bet is that it will not. The plumber put that bucket there when he did the slab so that he could offset the drain to match the shower unit being used. This is very common.
