XDs......love it or leave it?

I had a cousin come into town this weekend with one. We shot for a while at my range and I loved it. I'm a huge Glock fan and have never been a fan of the XD. I'm thinking of getting one for my wife.

I put 110 rounds through my new XDS on Monday. I really liked it and thought that the kick was less than expected. It was easily managable and very accurate. I'm sure it will smooth out even more after another session at the range. I carried it for the firrst time IWB last night and it was very comfortable.

If you are any where near Jasper they have them for $489.99 at the Bargian Barn. (USI Sports).

Took the new XDS to the range and fired about 80 rounds through it. Had ine misfire but it was with Tulammo (holding nose). The strike appeared to be heavy enough to fire so I'm chalking it up to Tulammo. Also had one fail to chamber....again with Tulammo but I ran it through the mag again and it cycled fine. About 60 rounds were S and B and funcioned fine. The recoil was lighter than I expected and other than my jerky grip it was very accurate. Also tried a 7 round mag and it functioned just fine.

I'm very happy with the XDS and looking forward to the next range visit. I also picked up a very nice Camp 45 that will share the ammo...lol

First 4 targets today with my new XDS.....I believe I have a keeper!!!! DSC00121.JPG

I've owned an XD, and shot others I didn't own. they are great guns. the slide is a little more bulky than a glock. never had a problem with mine, but I like glocks better.

I am now the happy owner of the XDS. I had a G36 for EDC which was acceptable at the the time, but still a bit too big(same size for the most part as a G23 or 19). When the XDS came around I did a side by side and after months of struggling with the idea of giving up a great shooting Glock, I gave in and traded for the XDS. I could not be happier. This is a great shooting handful of tater chucking goodness. Consistent shot groups, manageable recoil, ZERO malfunctions and hides very well with the current hybrid IWB holster I wear now as well as standard IWB holsters for appendix carry etc.

If you are trying to trim the fat off of your CC without giving up reliability and accuracy, you have found the right gun.

I still love my glocks, but for CC the XDS my all day, every day, able and willing partner!

The XD was my very first handgun. I would've totally kept it but needed the money for moving, which I totally regret in selling it. Never had any FTF or FTE. I'm not sure where you've heard negative things about it, but I sure dont have any. I think maybe a lot of negative things are just relatively personal preference on the grip and how it feels in your hand. Eventually I'd like to get another. Hell, I'd definitely love to have a full size and a sub compact.
