Just a word up, I tried to do that to my truck and it couldn't be done even at a shop. I had to have the full strut and mine wasn't a 4 by 4. We had it all set up friend and I were going to do it but then we realized of Springs don't come off and if they did you have to have a compressor to do it so I went to a shop and they couldn't do it so I had to end up buying the full strut package and up cost me $750 now the backs went on fine although 5100 were 4 inches too long for my truck. According to Amazon they were supposed to fit but they compressed enough and they're working now I just make sure whoever you get to do that knows what they're doing that they use threadlocker good luck
