I am also on the fence about what kind of truck I want. Drive a 2 door wrangler right now but kid expected next summer. Don't think the 2 door jeep gonna be ideal so looking at trucks. They just want too damn much money for vehicles these days and I'm not gonna finance something. While the jeep is a love hate relationship I do love the short wheel base, turn radius and its ability to fit down just about every trail/road I want to go down. Im in real estate and show a lot of remote acreage and jeep has proven very useful for work and hobbies. That leads me to smaller trucks but they are all underpowered for trucks and expensive as hell for something that will stand over time with the mileage I put on vehicles. Haven't come up with a good answer yet.

I need 4 door, 4wd, short enough wheel base for good turn radius, something that will handle a lot of driving, better mpg than my jeep (low bar), decent size truck bed, tow package, and very preferably v8. And I don't want to come clean with 70k for it either. I'm gonna have to compromise somewhere. Probably price and certainly v8 unless I want a bigger truck.
