Hey folks. I picked up a cheap-o NEF Pardner single shot 12 gauge from a fella on here last weekend. I bought it with the intentions of having a little fun with it. Today, I chopped the barrel from 28" down to 20" (it's just 1/32 under 20"). I used the same tool NWSharpshooter used in his wingmaster thread: Superior Tool pipe cutter. I picked it up at Lowes. It did the job really well! I cleaned it up with a de-burring tool and some auto-body sandpaper. I need to pick up some cold blue to protect the bare metal. What do you guys think?

I used a band saw and a file to clean up the burrs. Pipe cutter will work though on a single barrel.

Yep. I'm tempted to take it down another 1 1/4"

That's it. I was going to sell my three single shots (.410, 20 & 12) but now I know what I am going to do with them!

Have fun. The tool works great. It only took a few minutes. Just be patient and tighten the vice slowly.

Anything under an 18" barrel on a shotty needs ATF aproval.

edit: And I believe the shotgun must remain over 26" in overall length in addition to no shorter than 18" barrel.

Good job on the mod. Cold blue doesn't protect bare metal though, it just colors it through chemical reaction.

You need to take that thing right down to the forend and chop the buttstock.
