Hesco L210's IIIa+ and a set of lv4's. Battle proven on a .308. I have em both. Multi curve if you're wanting a form fit. The 3a's are thin and concealeable. I use them under a suit, button up, or loose clothing in a low vis carrier when I'm on detail.
Going to need a budget...
Cheapest I'd go is Shellback Tactical. It's generally considered the lowest acceptable. They sell kits that fit a budget. I would get Lv4 plates if you can.
HighCom armor and a LBT 6094 is my current kit. There is better out there, but it's pretty damn good.

Just keep in mind weight. If you've ever moved, jogged, or ran with a kit, it can be taxing and you'll just die tired. Train train train if you go heavy plates.
