I've got two of these trees on my property, and myself and no one I know can identify them. I've googled and still can't find a match.

Trees are 20-25' tall, have big broad leaves 8-10" wide, and has some kind of nut, but only at the top 10' or so. The nuts are bright green hulled, and are extremely hard. I tried grating one Like a nutmeg nut and the rasp barely even scratched the nut. Here's the best pics I could get of one:

This is the nut/seed pod from my tree split open. The nut under my thumb is extremely hard, and solid.
