Most nimrods consider "OBO" as "I want xxx$ or a better offer if you are as stupid as me". I have had conversations with idiots that think "OBO" is a loop-hole for an auction....They don't understand "OBO" is usually "or best offer", they think it means "or better offer"....

I have no issue when someone makes me an offer even if a "low ball" as long as the offerer isn't an ass hat.

Don't offer me half listed price and say that I need to drive to you.

Offers in a PM don't bother me at all, its the "whats the least you'll take" or "I'll give you (insert half asking price)" which mostly come from newbs.
