Item Description: Very Precise SPR / DMR upper for sale... Basis of the build is a Larue billet upper reciever with M4 cuts, VTAC Extreme Battle Rail 11", AAC 51T muzzle brake properly timed and installed with rockset, Magpul MBUS sights, barrel is from Superior Barrels - their 16" RECCE, Mid-Length, âAmyntaâ, with Hard Blue (Nitrocarburized). The blank is a match blank from Douglas... Here is a snippet from their site:
"This is a midlength version of the RECCE profile. Midlength a preferred gas system due to its longer site radius with a front site base and smoother recoil impulse. M4 extension. Midlength gas system. 223 wylde chamber. 11 degree target crown. Thick profile for less âbarrel whipâ. Douglas premium air gaged 1:7 blank, a TRUE match blank, turned by Compass Lake Engineering. Threaded muzzle. Dimple 180 degrees from gas port for better location of gas port with gas block/FSB. Hard Blue for long lasting performance and accuracy. Midlength gas tube included."
This is a sub MOA upper with match grade ammo, the rear takedown lug of the upper has been machined @ the 45 degree angle for a 4140 bullnosed setscrew to tighten the upper to lower play if you choose to use it and engage the lug. Some lower receivers will fit tight, others fit loose, you make the call weather you want to deal with it or turn the setscrew in the upper's lug to tighten the fit then finish with some green penetrating locktight. The gas block is from Rainier Arms - their Match double setscrew gas block that I had to heat with MAP gas to get it on the barrel, it is that tight. The barrel was also double dimpled 180 degrees from the gas port to allow the setscrews to bury into. Both had rockset applied prior to being tightened. Barrel nut from Troy is 100% perfect with zero install mishaps, lubed with 2800 degree antiseize and torqued to 64ft/lbs before reaching proper and perfect alignment of the gas tube.
