Grandpa’s Guns

I feel very privileged to be the new caretaker of my wife’s grandpa’s guns. We moved these family heirlooms into my house yesterday. They perfectly represent everything you needed in rural Mississippi in the 1940s-60s. Multiple 22s, 12 gauges, .38 Smiths, 30/30 and 30-06. No frills, just tools for farm life. I love the period ammo as well.

I hope all my shiii is taken this well care off after I leave.

I inherited my father-in-law’s guns a while back, cleaned and stored them until I felt the only grandson was old/responsible enough to own them. I gave one gun to him for Christmas and one for his birthday until he had them all but two. My wife wanted to keep a couple of them, he will get those one day too.

Very nice collection that you inherited. It's nice to see people trying to keep heirlooms to be passed down through the generations. I've inherited all but two guns that belonged to my grandparents and my father. They will stay in my possession until I'm gone or until the next generation gets mature enough to take them on.
