Item Description: “ US CARBINE CAL 30 MI” stamped on top of receiver
“SO. EL MONTE, CAL.” stamped on left side of receiver
“6091” stamped in front of rear site
“H. I.” stamped on right side of rear site
“ M MA” stamped on magazine release
If “6091” is the serial number, it’s going to be an Inland Division manufactured rifle, according to the website,
manufactured between 5/1942- 9/1943.
This rifle has the 2nd model micrometric machined adjustable sight, milled construction.
“Originally it was planned to equip the USM1 with a firing selector (semi-auto, full-auto). In a goal of simplification the first models were deprived of it (1941-44). The selector was introduced at the end of 1944.”
This rifle has that selector switch which this is referring to. The 2nd model type II
