Item Description: The fine print first: I'm not interested in trades at this time. Cash only - physical cash, not Paypal, Venmo or other service. To save you an email, if this ad is up, the rifle is still available. All transactions will take place near downtown Roswell in the driveway at my house, next to my neighbor's police car. Note that if the rifle doesn't sell, I will drop the price like it's hot every few weeks; so instead of sending a "What's your lowest price?" email, just wait until the price meets your expectations and THEN email me and come get it. Patience is everything. I'm more interested in slowly freeing up closet space as opposed to needing to sell quickly.

Covid precautions: I'll leave the garage door open, and leave plenty of space between us; I've had all of my vaccinations, so I have high hopes of surviving any transaction. I'll wear a mask if it makes you feel more comfortable. Otherwise, I'll pretend like it's 1999.

This is a Winchester Model 74 .22LR. Based on the serial number of 335XXX, 1953 is the date of manufacture. It was manufactured in New Haven, CT, and purchased by my father in 1953/54. This was my Dad's main squirrel/rabbit gun until he developed Parkinson's in the late 80s. I couldn't hit a squirrel/rabbit with a 22 to save my life, so it was also my main non-moving-target gun during the 80s. It spent the remaining time after that in the closet. Dad cleaned his guns like clockwork, so this is still in good condition. I have not cleaned the gun myself, so once you get this cleaned up I think you'll be in for a treat visually. It looks pretty good now...look at that shine (I haven't touched it).

As an added bonus, I'm including:

1) An vintage Outers Laboratories rifle cleaning kit. I don't see an age on the box, but given the lack of bar codes, I'm assuming it's from the 60s.

2) 100+ rounds of CC 22LR cartridges. The last time I shot this gun was the mid-80s, so I'm guessing the ammo is from then or earlier.

3) A vintage JC Higgins leather case that most likely dates back to the 50s.

FAQ

1. Will you hold the gun for a certain date for me to pickup?

Unfortunately, I've dealt with many no-shows over the years, so I stick with a "first-come-with-cash, first-served policy." I won't hold a gun for multiple days. However, you can be assured that when we schedule time for you to come over, I will not sell the gun out from under you.

2. Can I see more photos?

I'm not sure if this site allows for external links, but if so, you can download a zip file of the fifteen original images here: https://couchmando.com/misc/win22/win22.zip
