Item Description: Excellent shape model 64, extremely accurate, with JM grips. Gun is a little dirty in the picture due to polish and fingerprints.

Gun was purchased as a police trade in, hence the numbers below the cylinder. Gun really shoots fantastic, with great accuracy.

Yes, it does look like a Square Butt ... Whatever, these guys are "Shooters" in that they are accurate and reliable. I have the round butt version, but no police markings .... Great guns for folks who want accuracy, reliability, and the safety that a revolver provides. Those wad-cutters being discussed also make excellent loads for women, even for self-defense. Why? Well, it isn't how hard you hit, but how accurate you hit that counts! Those wad-cutters CUT a very definitive wound channel that will not close up, and they expend all of their energy insides; not going through. Look no further than the Keith-Style bullets in .45 ... "devastation" to the "Nth" degree! They do make some nice lead 160 GR .38 Wad-Cutter projectiles, but why to bother when 148 GR does a good job on its own: look at what one does to a bottle/can of water!
