I've been fly fishing in GA for a really long time and have the fortunate opportunity to guide a most of the private trophy waters here so landing or guiding someone to land a lunker has become commonplace at those streams. I guide the public waters too and have had a lot of luck landing some nice fish but this morning I was lucky enough to stick a real honest to goodness public water monster. I'm a catch and release guy so don't ask me where this guy lives but he eats stockers on some cold water somewhere north of Atlanta. Hahaha.
Nailed him on an 11' 4 wt rod with 4x tippet and stripping a streamer. I was targeting the stocked fish just to get some competition practice and he decided to play.
