First off, I am not *****ing or ranting or complaining, just asking for a small prayer or two. I still have a job, roof over my head, and food on the table and know there are those in much worse conditions than I and certainly don't want to take anything away from them. But here is the saga so far:

I broke my ankle December of '97 and had to have surgery. 2 rods, 1 plate and 14 screws later, they have it pretty much put back together. I have had constant pain ever since. So, 2 weeks ago I am getting lightning like shooting pain through ankle/foot and can not walk. Go to specialist and find out it is severe arthritis and now on a cortisone every 6 weeks program and need orthotics to force my ankle to straighten up. Should be able to go back to work next week. Thank God for sick days...

I traded for a four wheeler last week and knew it needed a right front axle. No big deal right? $410.70 later, I have 2 new front axles and 4 new boots for the rear end coming. These are super heavy duty axles and should hold up on a lifted four wheeler (or so I was told). About 3 times what I was expected to spend, but no biggie as long as they last forever.

2 days after ordering the axles for the four wheeler, I get a call from girl friend that she is stuck in the Lowes' parking lot. Car has completely died and will not move. Figuring it is either a clutch problem, that we had replaced about 2 months ago, or the transmission, I went picked her up, waited 1.5 hours for a rollback to show up and had it taken to a local mechanic. So, now I have a car to either fix or have to buy her a new one. Her's is a beat to hell hyundai that isn't worth what a new transmission would cost and she has been unemployed since January...

Once again, I realize there are many that are worse off than me, but I would appreciate a few thoughts and prayers. Look for a cleaning out the safe gun sale coming soon, if I can't figure something else out :(

Thoughts and prayers man. I always have said God never gives me more than He thinks I can handle....BUT... I sure wish He didn't have such high expectations lol. I have friends in the car business if it comes to that. I can help find you a reliable daily driver for her.

Thanks and I will keep that in mind. Waiting on a call from mechanic to see what he has to say about the car.

Thanks for the second chance. We all get fooled every now and then. And, if the "friend" is who I think you are talking about; he is the definition of "keyboard commando", nothing like that in person. I've only met him 2 or 3 times, but not nearly as cocky/trollish in person. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Thankfully mine has not gotten to the point of needing high dosage pain meds as that would put me out of work as well. I am just comforted in knowing now that it is arthritis and not something (bone/nerves) that could leave me disabled and unable to work.

Sucks....but just sounds like life.
Its better than being dead.

I have always said, getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative.
