Granted never under my hypothetical child is going to die stress, but at close ranges I have my spacing figured out on my red dot. Kids are still expensive it's still a win/win situation with your options here.

Gotcha, I'm not trying to create an argument,.as.this ain't a cookie cutter situation, he could off the kid as you step into the doorway or remain perfectly still, the variables are immense. But in general, I'm curious how.many would feel OK about the shot. While bullets may be cheap, you can't take a bad shot away.
