Whitetail neck shot?
Neck shots are great for reasons stated above but too high or low can cause issues. Make sure you and your rifle are on. Took my biggest to date with a neck shot about 80 yards last year.- atscott

Help identifying ammunition.
Pretty sure reloaders can get brass colored primers. I'm thinking I had some a while back, maybe Remington brand primers. I will concede they aren't common. BHP beat me to it.- atscott

Questions about bolt gun weight.
I hunt in extremely hilly terrain mostly in box blinds but occasionally in tree stands. Most of my shots are inside 100 yards with a few exceptions. The older I get the lighter and shorter I want my rifles. 8# is about the max I want. Aluminum rings and mounts save a lot of weight without...- atscott
