Help identifying ammunition.

Has brass factory primer. Seems to be way it came. Not a reload
Lots of pulled down components on the market. It's entirely possible someone bought this pulled down & primed brass as 5.56 NATO and then trimmed it down for 300 ACC. That'd be my guess. To my knowledge there is no NATO standard for 300 ACC.

With a NATO headstamp? I guess it doesn't matter.

From what I can find, LC were making their own brass early on, but have subsequently started using Hornady brass. For me, a certified autist, the fact that the caliber isn't on the headstamp is causing some agita too.

To demonstrate my (at least selective) ignorance - would they trim down cartridges with a primer in them? Sounds kinda dangerous to me.

tomusaf tomusaf - I don't want to sound like a stalker, but in case you didn't note it - I'm in Canton and if you want to actually gauge that brass, I can meet you somewhere with my gauges and you can plunk away to your heart's content.

Normally
Brass primers are factory. Just have
never seen reload that primer was not silver. Do not even think you can buy brass gold colored primers for reliad

Depends whose primers. I buy all kinds of stuff. White River, CCI, these Argentinian pistol primers.

Me? I think they're just happy to make a profit nowadays.

However, it looks to me like that the primer in that LC round is well and truly seated and staked in place. You'd need to swage that pocket to seat another primer.
