  1. Best way to give color to a new cmp M1 Garand stock?

First thing I do is sand/remove the big hideous CMP stamp. I then strip the thin finish that is present, then stain and use multiple coats of BLO

Its probably easier for you to read this than me explain it. It only takes a light tap, not a striking blow. All you are trying to do is slightly roll the edge over http://thecmp.org/training-tech/armorers-corner/gas-cylinder/
  7. M1 Garand accuracy question

Start with the basics, stock fit is a huge factor. Grasp the gas cylinder does it move slightly from right to left? If so barrel needs peened . Also what ammo are you using? Dont take this wrong but have you fired a high power rifle before? It may be shooter error as much as anything else. Also...

It can be caused by a number of things but the op rod spring needs changed as: Wolffe springs are a problem, they are extra power and can cause short stroking. Springs from Orion 7 or Garand...

From what very little I can see in the pictures it is not "original & unmolested" The rear sight and trigger guard is not correct would expect its simply a worn Garand that has been trough atlast one rebuild The receiver dates from late 1941, not 1945 I have a all correct Dec 1941 Garand I an...
