The Navy MK2 Mod0 had the inserts, for a shooter you need to look for a MK Mod1 which is a chambered 7.62 barrel. They are a real joy to shoot, if I see one for sale I will let you know

Start with the basics, stock fit is a huge factor. Grasp the gas cylinder does it move slightly from right to left? If so barrel needs peened . Also what ammo are you using?

Are you shooting of a bench with the front handguard on a rest? The front handguard is open on the bottom and the op rod will drag on the bag and can cause issues

When purchasing a pinion/elevation knob make sure the detent/tit is sharp not rounded over. The pinion may look new but the tit may be worn rounded and not hold.
