    I found a nice patch of yellow morels yesterday in my usual spot. It's like clockwork this time of year. Sautéed some in fresh raw milk butter last night with a little garlic.....fantastic
  2. Pan seared perfection

    I cooked some 33 day aged deer chops last night. I like to keep these really simple. Season with salt, pepper, and dried rosemary. Pan seared in cast iron with butter. Couple minutes on each side and keep the butter basted on the top side. They went excellent with some smashed potatoes!!!

  5. Ribeyes and chanterelles

    Picked a mess of chanterelles and oysters yesterday morning while out checking cams. Grilled some medium rare ribeyes last night while my wife baked potatoes, sautéed asparagus, and the shrooms. What a fantastic meal.

    Shucked a bushel Saturday for lunch and boy they were good. We had raw, 3 cheese baked, jalepeno baked, fried 2 pints worth, homeade crabcakes, coleslaw, diced potatoes, keyline pie, and brownies. It was some kind of good!

  20. Fruits of fall

    Hit up dad's crabapple tree for some goods here recently. My little girl and I got busy peeling and my wife cooked them down into her delicious apple sauce. I used the stock to make us a few quarts of cider that's gonna go down real smooth come cold weather. It's all delicious!!
