Estwing, for the money it's the best you can do, best you can get close to for a reasonable budget, and a lot better than some of the expensive axes. You have to pay a lot to beat it.

The Excursion manages pretty well in 4x4 in the snow. Breaks ice under its 8000 lb weight. Stock up some diesel for it and the tractor. Get food stocks up and make sure there is ample firewood split and ready. Buy some fresh sleds for the kids! Make sure the snow gear still fits! About it.
I have a Cold Steel Voyager. Folding knife with a 5.5" tanto blade. Seems to be sturdy, but just got it so we'll see. Anyone have experience with them. My favorite survival knife right now is my K Bar tanto fixed blade.
