I found a pack of elk meat from 2014 in the back of the freezer about a month ago. It was quite tasty! As long as it's been frozen the whole time you should be good.
An accurized 16" AR-15 with a variable magnification scope is probably your best all around, only have 1 rifle option. The ammo is lighter to carry, meaning you can carry more of it; it's practically as accurate as a decent bolt gun; has better mags in terms of capacity, weight for capacity and...
Just think of the possibility of losing one of the bags. Would the contents make or break your survival? Anything super essential, split amongst the packs so that even if you lose a pack you can continue on.
Consider the essentials vs conveniences. Make the essentials redundant and split...
Keep it simple. 5.56 and 9mm. Common mags and parts between guns (ie Glock 9mms and ARs), etc. For .22 capabilities, I prefer a conversion kit to carrying around an entire other weapon system.
A get home bag in the car enables me to do just that. I drive quite a bit and can be anywhere from 50-150 miles from home some days of the week. Having the ability to get home on foot and have the necessary supplies to either operate independently or simply get help is not preparing for the...
I'd probably be interested in a road trip north myself. I'm also trying to swing a fall Rogers trip. Let me know what you guys have in mind for either.
I've watched, paused, etc at the :12 and :21 second marks, and if you consider their foot placement in relation, the muzzle doesn't appear to be sweeping.
Also, on the moving down range while others are firing bit.. I've been to a class or two where this has been done. Nothing wrong with it...
While the 39 is available now, there is not a large capacity to produce it domestically. Outside of what comes in from Russia, it's a specialized bullet that is not commonly made. The 5.56/.223 on the other hand is made by everyone and their brother, along with being imported. Just something...
Glock 19 and my 5.56 AR-15. Keep it easy, no need to haul several calibers, different magazines, etc, etc. 9mm and .223 are the two most popular centerfire calibers made in the United States. If I had the time, maybe I'd throw in the .22 conversion kit for the Glock, but that's about it.
